Anjali Arora is a social media influencer, actress, and model from India, recognized for her viral posts and her participation in the reality series Lock Upp, where she placed as the second runner-up.
Actress and social media figure Anjali Arora expressed her support for gaming influencer Payal Dhare, widely recognized as Payal Gaming, during the current viral MMS controversy surrounding her. Using her own experiences, Anjali shared the lasting emotional and professional harm inflicted by false and unverified information spread online.
In response to the controversy, Anjali released a comprehensive statement in which she reflected on the trauma she endured three years prior when a fabricated MMS was disseminated using her name.
She stated, “Three years ago, I went through the trauma of a fake MMS being circulated using my name. Seeing the same thing happen to Payal Gaming today brings back those painful memories.” Reflecting on her history, Anjali noted that these events create lasting wounds and continue to impact victims well beyond the time the issue loses public focus.
In her statement, Anjali pointed out the casual manner in which this content is consumed and shared online. She remarked, “People don't realise how damaging their actions are. For them, it's a minute of entertainment – for us, it becomes years of trauma. She elaborated that the fabricated controversy deprived her of career opportunities, stating that she was excluded from promising projects and continues to experience repercussions in the industry, not because of her performance but due to untruths.
Pointing out the mentality driving such actions, Anjali remarked, “It's disturbing how easily fake narratives are believed and how quickly empathy is replaced by judgment. This mindset is disgusting and absolutely unacceptable.” She concluded her message by asserting, “No woman deserves to suffer for someone else's cheap curiosity or baseless lies.”
Payal Gaming, a well-known gaming influencer in India, recently became embroiled in a controversy after her name was incorrectly associated with a viral MMS video spreading on social media. The video allegedly depicts a woman sharing an intimate moment with a man, prompting numerous users to conjecture—without any proof—that Payal was the woman featured in the footage.
In response to the backlash, Payal released a comprehensive statement on Wednesday, December 17, stating that she is not the individual shown in the video. The 25-year-old has also stated that she is starting legal proceedings against individuals abusing her identity. She also encouraged media organizations and social media users to avoid sharing, reproducing, or speculating about the video in any manner, indicating that suitable legal actions are being pursued to ensure accountability under the law.
