Ranveer Singh is a star for a reason. He doesn't just play a character, but he transforms into it, and with that everything feels believable, exciting and engaging. With Dhurandhar too, Ranveer Singh proves that he's never scared to take bold and gutsy swings. His vibe is infectious, his onscreen presence electric and it is his raw energy that instantly pulls viewers into whatever world he recreates. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself completely glued to the big screen, admiring his long tresses, intense gaze, and physique. But honestly, it’s not just the appearance, his acting is impressive too (barring a few sequences which looked unnecessary). Ranveer Singh delivers a compelling performance, and Dhurandhar makes it impossible to look away.
Dhurandhar largely revolves around Ranveer Singh's character Hamza Ali Mazhari, an undercover agent who is given the responsibility to enter enemy territory and gather critical intelligence on potential terrorist strikes. As the story progresses, Hamza starts focusing on terror network operating in Lyari (Karachi). He wins Rehman Dakait's (Akshaye Khanna) trust, becomes his aid and meets ISI’s Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal). Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhry Aslam Khan takes on the responsibility of killing Lyari. But does he? Watch the film to know what exactly happens.

The film kicks off with this super intense attack scene, and that clearly sets the tone perfectly! Everything looks sharp and well-executed, and the first 60 minutes not only makes you familiar with most of the characters, but also puts out the whole setup in a convincing manner. The viewers are given the perfect crux of the story with just the right amount of impact. Dhurandhar offers multiple story tracks, but not once do these appear confusing. Instead, all are tied together really well. The movie brings to the viewers the efforts that India’s intelligence make to pull the plug on Pakistan’s nasty plans, and covers almost everything - from the Parliament attack to Mumbai attacks to hijackings, and fake currency rackets. Adity Dhar's film also puts forth Pakistan–Balochistan conflict. Since the director uses some real footage from the Parliament attack, it leaves a powerful impact. The film features several action and violent sequences which are intense. So if you are sensitive to such content, you may wish to exercise caution. However, the film presents these events with unflinching honesty. While the first half, which runs about two hours, keeps you hooked, it is the second half that drags a bit.
If there's a crucial reason you need to watch Dhurandhar, it's Ranveer Singh. He is electrifying, unstoppable, and unforgettable. You just can’t take your eyes off Ranveer Singh! The star totally owns the screen as Hamza. He may be brutal one minute, and irresistibly captivating, the next. Ranveer pays acute attention to every aspect - skin tone, hairdo, eye color, body language, flawless stunts - to ensure he exudes the raw, edgy vibe that his character demands. Akshaye Khanna as Rehman is compelling. He gets into the skin of his character with immense ease and perfection. Rakesh Bedi and Arjun Rampal play their parts well as a scheming politician and as Major Iqbal respectively. Sanjay Dutt doesn't bring anything new. His humor, one-liners will make you feel you are watching one of his past releases. The actor who deserves mention is Gaurav Gera who is totally unrecognizable, but impactful. Sara Arjun, as Hamza's love interest Yalina Jamil, could have done a lot better. They just don’t click on screen, and their height difference feels a bit off, too.
