Deepika Padukone’s exit from Spirit and Kalki 2

Earlier this year, there was la ot of discussion around Deepika Padukone being exit from high-budget films like Spirit and Kalki 2 over the 8-hour shift demand. Several social media users and celebrities came in favour of the demand made by the new mother. However, some also felt that it is too much to ask, as it is normal to work for long hours, which suits the production budget. After months of debate, Deepika also reacted to the controversy and told CNBC TV18, “I don't want to take names now and make this into a whole thing, but it is very commonly, publicly known that a lot of male actors have been working for 8 hours a day for years. A lot of them only work for 8 hours from Monday to Friday. They do not work on weekends.”

Paresh Rawal's exit from Hera Pheri 3

Hera Pheri 3 is one of the cult classic movies, which is known for the bromance of three characters Raju, Baburao and Shyam. Fans of Hera Pheri cannot think of anyone other than Paresh Rawal as Baburao. However, earlier this year, the veteran actor announced his exit from the film, which didn’t go well with the fans. Akshay Kumar, who is an essential part of the production of the film, reportedly sent a legal notice to Paresh Rawal to leave the project mid-way. Later, in June this year, the veteran actor confirmed that he is back in Hera Pheri 3. Now, fans are delighted and excited to see the iconic trio all over again.

Sardaar Ji 3 row

Diljit Dosanjh’s movie Sardaar Ji 3 starred Pakistani actors like Hania Aamir. Ahead of the release of the film, there were boycott calls from the audience and the management of the film fraternity as in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, they wanted to ban the Pakistani artists. Despite several boycott threats, Dosanjh went ahead with the release not in India but in foreign countries. This triggered a lot of backlash from the audience at that time.

Later, the actor-singer opened up about this matter at his concert in Malaysia and said, “When my film Sardaar Ji 3 was made in February, the matches were being played. But then the tragic Pahalgam terror attack happened. Since then, we have always prayed that the terrorists should receive the strictest punishment. There is a difference as my film was shot before the attack, and the match was played afterwards.”

Ranveer Singh Kantara row

During the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival in Goa, Ranveer Singh was having fun on stage while he tried to pitch himself for Kantara 3 to Rishab Shetty. Social media erupted with backlash from the audience as it didn’t sit well with them that Singh called the goddess a ghost and mimicked her. Netizens also criticised Singh for not knowing the culture, as his wife, Deepika Padukone, hails from Karnataka. Days later, Ranveer issued a statement apologising for his behaviour and stated, “My intention was to highlight Rishab’s performance in the film. Actor to actor, I know much it would take to perform that particular scene the way he did, for which he has my utmost admiration. I have always deeply respected every culture, tradition and belief in our country. If I have hurt anyone’s sentiments, I sincerely apologise.”
