Created and Developed by Ekta Kapoor, Kumkum Bhagya revolves around the life of a middle class girl Pragya Arora (Sriti Jha) who is married to an affluent rockstar named Abhishek Mehra. The series shows how the two face hurdles, difficulties and misunderstandings and pave way for their love. It premiered on ZEE Tv on April 15, 2014 and has been going strong on the TRP charts since then. Speaking about the show, Ekta Kapoor once said “… It is so contemporary in its treatment that viewers will be able to instantly spot characters out of their own lives in the show. It's a story of passionate love that anyone with a soul would be able to easily relate to." The show initially focused on the life of Sarla Arora, and her daughters. Under some unlikely circumstances, Pragya got married to Abhi. Abhi’s sister Aliya and girlfriend Tanu keep conspiring against Pragya but their plans always end up bringing Pragya close to Abhi. Currently Abhi has lost his memory and has forgotten that he ever got married to Pragya. Pragya is now working as his personal secretary at his home. Aaliya is trying hard to make use of his medical condition and get him married to Tanu.
