Anurag Kashyap’s crime drama Nishaanchi was released on the big screens on September 19, 2025. After having a decent box office performance, the film is now finally out on the OTTs as well. The film is now available to be seen on Amazon Prime Videos, along with a sequel that is digitally exclusive. The announcement was made on Friday, when the streaming platform took to X (formerly Twitter) to share an announcement video of Kashyap and the cast of Nishaanchi. The caption of the post read, “Babloo, Dabloo aur Rinku—poore gang ki poori kahani, nahi dekhoge kya? #NishaanchiOnPrime, Watch Now.”

What is Nishaanchi part 2 about?
Nishaanchi’s part 1 had a theatrical release, but the makers of the film have decided to drop the second part directly on OTT instead. While the first part focused on love, betrayal, and familial bonds, the second part is about redemption and facing the consequences of the choices you make.

The crime thriller marked the debut of Aaishvary Thackeray, who is the grandson of Balasaheb Thackeray, the founder of Shiv Sena.
The narrative of the movie revolves around Thackeray, who plays the double role of twin brothers Babloo and Dabloo. The mother of the twins is played by Monika Panwar. The character of Babloo’s love interest, Rinku, is played by Vedika Pinto. Along with these, the film also features Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Kumud Mishra. IMDb describes the film’s plotline as “Twin brothers, identical in looks but different in values, face brotherhood, betrayal, love, and redemption. Their paths weave through crime into a deeper story about human nature.”
Nishaanchi is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh, under the banner of Jar Pictures in association with Flip Films. Anurag Kashyap has collaborated with Amazon MGM Studios, which is acting as the film’s distributing partner.
Nishaanchi was written in 2016
During a conversation with Variety, Anurag Kashyap revealed the script for the film was written in 2016. “We wrote Nishaanchi in 2016. Since then, I have been looking to make this film the way it should be and was looking for a studio that trusted me to do that wholeheartedly,” the director had told Variety.
