In the past, Vijay Deverakonda was slammed a lot for Arjun Reddy though the movie became a blockbuster. Some people have criticized the excessive kissing scenes in his movies. Now, this scene has left people infuriated. They feel it is very unbecoming of a 'hero' of a mainstream commercial film to give threats of sexual assault to women from enemy camp. They have questioned why Vijay Deverakonda did not firmly say no when he could have done so. Even filmmaker Parasuram has got some flak for writing such a scene. Mrunal Thakur also faced some criticism for ignoring this.
