Bigg Boss 19 contestant Amaal Mallik recently opened up about his viral social media post in which he had announced cutting off ties with his family. The popular music composer told Zeishan Quadri that he had posted a note on his social media after an argument with his mother. Amaal said that he was going through a tough time and had a serious breakup then. “Maine ek post daali thi, internet pe bahut viral ho gaya tha. Main depression mein tha. Maine apne family se ties cut off kar diye the. Shayad issliye inhone yahan bula liya (laughs). Bahut news ho gaye the. Ek identity crisis mehsoos hone lag gaye the. Gaane sab main bana raha tha but koi mujhe poochta nahi tha. Apna chota (Armaan Mallik) toh apne bete jaisa hai, uss se koi aisa feeling nahi hai. Mujhe Armaan ne yeh feel bhi nahi karvaya ke ‘main star hu, tu nahi hai’," Amaal said.
“Mummy se uss din argument ho gaye thi bahut badi. Toh maine daal diya ke mera koi relation nahi hai. Main jo bolta hu mere shabd hai. Mere tweet ya mere kuch kehne se papa ko koi bol raha hai, Armaan se panga le raha hai, mummy ki upbringing pe sawaal uth rahe hai. Maine bola aap teeno apne surname badal lo ya main badal leta hu. Voh tsunami phata kabhi. Family ko bhi kabhi kabhi samajhna padta hai. Mera doggy passed away, ek serious breakup hua tha – trigger mein turmoil voh ball ban kar internet par aa gaya," he added.

Amaal shared a post and revealed suffering from depression. He also spoke about his strained relationship with his brother and spoke about the growing distance to his parents. His post read, "The journey has been terrific for both of us but the actions of my parents have been the reason we as brothers have gone too far from one another and all of this has made me step in for myself as it has left a very deep scar across my heart. Through the last many years, they have left no opportunity to disturb my well-being and belittle all my friendships, my relationships, my mindset, my self-confidence. What really matters is that I am clinically depressed because of these happenings. Yes, I have only myself to blame for my actions but my self-worth has been diminished countless times by actions of near and dear ones that stole pieces of my soul". He later deleted the post and also issued a clarification which read, “Thank you for the love and support it truly means a lot, but I would request the media portals to not harass my family.. Please don’t sensationalise and give negative headlines to my vulnerability…It’s a request. It’s taken a lot for me to open up; it is a very tough time for me…I will always love my family but for now, from afar. Nothing changes between us brothers, Armaan and I are one and nothing can come between us. Love and Peace."
