It stars Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, and Rashmika Mandanna as the main character. It is the second part in the Pushpa film series and the sequel to the 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise. The film is set in the red sandalwood forests of Andhra Pradesh and follows the story of Pushpa Raj, a lorry driver who becomes a sandalwood smuggler. In the first part, Pushpa rose to become the kingpin of the sandalwood smuggling trade in the region. The second part will see Pushpa face off against his arch-enemy, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, the Inspector General of Police. Pushpa 2: The Rule is scheduled to be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages on 17 December 2024. The film has a budget of ₹500 crores and is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.
