Principal photography began in Chennai in August 2022 and ended in June 2023. Jailer is said to be a dark comedy with elements of action and suspense. The film is set in a prison and follows the story of a jailer who is forced to deal with a group of dangerous inmates. The film is expected to be a major release in Tamil cinema and is scheduled to be released on August 10, 2023.
