Popular Bollywood actress Fatima Shaikh recently attended the star-studded Umrao Jaan 4K re-release event, rubbing shoulders with the iconic Rekha herself. A lot of other celebrities like Tabu, Alia Bhatt, Aamir Khan, Hema Malini, Anil Kapoor and more attended the event. The Dangal actress later took to her Instagram and posted a love letter to the classic film. She wrote, “Watched Umrao Jaan on the big scree and what a surreal experience it was. Every time Rekhaji appeared, all of us gasped. Her eyes, her stillness, her grace uff! It’s impossible to look away. I am in love with her she is magic.”

Fatima Sana Shaikh also shared some pictures from the event. It wasn’t just Rekha stealing the show in those pics—Vijay Varma popped up in a couple of snaps, posing with Fatima. The duo’s been sparking dating rumors for a while now, especially after they were spotted laughing and hugging outside a Mumbai café earlier this year. Add to that their upcoming rom-com Gustakh Ishq (also known as Ul Jalool Ishq), which has got the fans convinced there’s more than just on-screen chemistry.

However, at the trailer launch for her upcoming Netflix film Aap Jaisa Koi on June 25, the actress shut down the Vijay Varma dating rumors with some serious sass. When asked about her love life, she joked, “Acche ladke hai hi nai yaar… Koi bhi nahi hai (meri life mein). Filmon mein acche hote hai.” (Good guys only exist in films!) She went on to share her take on love, saying, “The idea of equality of love is where two people respect each other, and they will listen to each other and won’t deny it.”
For the unversed, Vijay’s split with Tamannaah Bhatia earlier this year had already gotten the town talking, with some reports claiming their breakup was due to “differing priorities.” So, when Fatima and Vijay were seen together, the internet went wild, but Fatima’s made it crystal clear—she’s single, focused on her career, and not entertaining the rumor mill.
On the work front, Fatima’s killing it! She’s got Metro In Dino hitting theaters on July 4, 2025, with a star-studded cast including Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan. Then, Aap Jaisa Koi drops on Netflix July 11, where she’s romancing R. Madhavan. And, of course, there’s Gustakh Ishq with Vijay, which has everyone curious.
