Kaantha box office collection day 4: Selvamani Selvaraj’s much-appreciated film Kaantha - which features Dulquer Salmaan, Bhagyashri Borse, Samuthirakani, and Rana Daggubati in lead roles - had hit theatres on November 14. Since the film opened to mixed reviews and reactions, it saw a dip in collections over its first weekend. Initially, the film had seen an upward trend in its collections. However, on its third day, Kaantha’s earnings had seen a slight drop. How did the film perform on day 4? According to reports in Sacnilk, Kaantha has earned about 0.27 Cr India net in all languages. This was according to the update published at 2.42 pm.

Kaantha box office collection over the first weekend

As reported by Sacnilk, Kaantha managed to mint Rs 4.35 crores on day one. On its second day, it witnessed a surge of 14.94% and could collect Rs 5 crores. On day 3, the film again saw a dip in its collection. It managed to earn Rs 4.35 crores. Going by the total amount earned by the film, its net India collection stands at Rs 13.22 crores. Its overseas collection stands at Rs 5 crores.

What is Kaantha about?

Kaantha has been directed by Selvamani and produced by Dulquer and Rana under Wayfarer Films and Spirit Media. The film is set in 1950s Madras and revolves around the story of TK Mahadevan (Dulquer). Mahadevan is a superstar busy filming Tamil’s first horror film Saantha, with former mentor and director Ayya (Samuthirakani). However, the ego clash between TK Mahadevan and Ayya further results in serious consequences for a loved one. While Bhagyashri essays the role of an aspiring actor named Kumari, Rana (Phoenix) plays a police inspector. Kaantha was originally slated for release earlier. However, the film had to be postponed for Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra.
