RABI GHOSH

Biography : Rabi Ghosh was an Indian actor known for his work in Bengali cinema. He was born on November 24, 1931 in Kolkata, and began his acting career in the early 1950s. He is known for his comic appeal, though his versatile acting talent brought him success in various kinds of roles. He is probably one of the earliest character actors of Bengali cinema who focused mainly on method acting. Ghosh was a regular member of Satyajit Ray films over the years, appearing in such classics as Aparajito, Abhijan, and Aranyer Din Ratri. He also starred in many other notable Bengali films, including Ami Jibonpurer Pathik, Agantuk, and Bikele Bhorer Phul. Ghosh was also a renowned actor in Bengali theatre and TV. He won numerous awards for his work, including the Anandalok Award and the Ultorath Award. He died on February 4, 1997 in Kolkata. Ghosh's legacy is that of a versatile and talented actor who brought joy and laughter to audiences for many years.
