Not many know that Achyut Potdar was a scholar in the field of economics. Before entering Bollywood, he worked as a professor and then joined the Indian Army. He retired as captain in 1967. He then worked for Indian Oil for over 25 years.
It was during his tenure at Indian Oil that he would take part in plays and fulfil his acting dreams. Later, at the age of 44, he entered the film industry and played several supporting characters. His first movie was Aakrosh that released in 1980.
Achyut Potdar was among the few actors who worked will all the top three Khans - Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. He was a part of Salman Khan's Dabangg 2, Shah Rukh Khan's Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots.
