The biggest question of telly town in 2019 has been, who will be the new Dayaben? Ever since TV actress Disha Vakani took a break from sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, her on-screen character of Dayaben has been missing from the show. Disha took a maternity break from the show in 2017. However, after waiting for two years, the producers have given up on Disha, who has apparently refused to return to the show. Producer Asit Modi announced that he has to start hunting for a new Dayaben since the show needs to go on.
While talking to a media, Asit said, "There are women who take maternity breaks and then resume work. We have given Disha leave and now we cannot wait more so will have to start looking for a new Dayaben. We will have to replace her, for the audience who have waiting for Daya’s return. And as it’s said, the show must go on."

Since then everyone has started putting out names of several actresses who could likely replace Disha. Some options are as bizarre as glam dolls like Drashti Dhami, Surbhi Chandna and Giaa Manek, while some options are really considerable. For instance, Shilpa Shinde.
The Bigg Boss 11 winner's name has popped up in every list. Since Shilpa's character of Angoori Bhabhi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! was quite similar to Dayaben, Shilpa seems to be the perfect option to replace Disha.
Apart from Shilpa, we have also put together a more names who could replace Disha Vakani as Dayaben.
Sucheta Trivedi
Sucheta Trivedi is one of the most talented actresses of TV, who has done quite a lot of sitcoms. The actress hails from Gujarati theatre background and therefore, we can totally think of her playing a character like Dayaben with much finesse.

Yeah, we know Ketki Dave might a little more matured than Dayaben, but we really think the one actress who can totally do a perfect Dayaben or maybe a little better is Ketki. Remember her signature "Aaara ra"?
Urvashi Dholakia
You might argue with us for this one, but we think if the makers rope in TV's vamp Urvashi Dholakia as TV's most beloved character, it would be a risk for sure but something totally unexpected. For those who don't know, Urvashi is quite funny in real life, and playing a character like Dayaben could be a game-changer for her as well. Just think Urvashi doing, 'Hey Ma Mataji?'
Rupali Bhosle
Rupali is again a talented actress who has been a part of several shows. Rupali knows how the sitcoms work and we can totally see her stepping into Disha Vakani's shoes as Dayaben. Also, she shares an uncanny resemblance to Disha Vakani.
