Pranit More earned himself a spot in the top 5 finalists, along with Tanya Mittal, Amaal Mallik, Farrhana Bhatt and Gaurav Khanna. A stand-up comic by profession Pranit centered his entire journey around his comedy. He used his wits and humour to slowly move forward in the game.

What was Pranit More’s contribution to the house?
However, one question lingers in everyone’s brain, consciously or subconsciously. What was Pranit More’s contribution to the house of Bigg Boss, other than his comedy? What made More an eligible contestant for getting up to top 5?

His jokes were personal and…
Pranit has a unique talent, there’s no denying that. However, his jokes have often seemed offensive, for both the audience and the housemates. With personal remarks and “below-the-belt” comments, Pranit jokes have been the stemming factor for multiple arguments in the house.

Were Pranit’s jokes distasteful?
Bigg Boss’s house is known to be a place where fights are just waiting to happen. In a situation like this, should Pranit not have made sure that his jokes do not become a cause of more distress. Moreover, was it really fair to make all those personal remarks under the guide of humour, as if that removes any accountability from him?

Were there double standards?
Bigg Boss 19 was the same show where Amaal Mallik was constantly criticised for treating it like a singing reality show and singing continuously. Then why was Pranit given an entire platform, with his weekly PM show, to showcase his talent? Why was the same standard of judgement not applied to him?

Is his talent unique?
Bigg Boss has definitely been welcoming of all types of talents throughout seasons, but comedy is not something unseen in the Indian television world. If saying “I would watch Indian Idol if I wanted to listen to people sing” is a fair argument for Amaal Mallik, then why does the same question not seem to apply to Pranit More? Comedy is present in almost every other show, so why did so much of airtime go to an activity that adds seemingly nothing to the show.

What was Pranit’s gameplay?
Has Pranit’s gameplay entailed anything more than just his roasts and comedy? Has he ever made any strategic moves, or formed alliances other than on the basis of being “positive”? Has he ever made decisions or taken steps that could impact the house or housemates, other than hurting their feelings by making personal remarks?

Closing remarks
You can keep arguing about freedom of speech and lack of a good audience who appreciates comedy all we want, but roast remains to be something still unappreciated by the majority of the audience. It has become extremely hard to decipher the actual values and strategies of Pranit inside the house, because there seems to be none. You can love him, you can hate him, but the question still remains, what has More contributed in the house, if you take away his weekly comedy show from equation?
