Ranveer Singh's film Dhurandhar is one of the most anticipated films of this year. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has been facing various speculations. Some media reports claimed that the film is based on the life of martyr Major Mohit Sharma AC(P)SM. However, director Aditya Dhar has now clarified that Dhurandhar is not a biopic of Major Mohit Sharma. Amidst the misinformation surrounding the film, a media portal reported that Ranveer Singh is playing the role of Major Mohit Sharma. Upon reading this news, Major Mohit Sharma's brother, Madhur Sharma, expressed his displeasure and responded on Twitter. He wrote that a credible media house should report based on facts, not speculation. He directly asked Aditya Dhar, @AdityaDharFilms I dont think it's Mohit, do you ? (sic)." Aditya Dhar immediately responded, clarifying that Dhurandhar is not inspired by the life of Major Mohit Sharma and is not a biopic at all.

Aditya Dhar further wrote that if he makes a film on Major Mohit Sharma in the future, it will be done only after obtaining the family's permission and consulting with them thoroughly. He stated that the sacrifice of this great soldier will be portrayed with respect. His response made it clear that while the film is inspired by true events, it is not directly related to Major Mohit Sharma's life journey. In his words, "Hi, sir - our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification. I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family, and in a way that truly honors his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us. ?
